“What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning Black America] saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?” Ezekiel 18:12

“And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in [Africa]… and commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of
the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2:8, 16-17

“Grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our Creator. These foods, prepared in as simply and natural manner as possible, are the most healthful and nourishing. They impart a strength, a
power of endurance, and a vigor of intellect that are not afforded by a more complex and stimulating diet.” The Ministry of Healing, p.165

For centuries, Satan has ingeniously sown the seeds of death in America. Blacks, dependent, fearful, and uninformed, have blindly cultivated a vineyard of “sour grapes” that has redisposed them to poor health. The complex and unresolved issues of Black health have produced a baleful harvest of physical disease and needless suffering, psychological pain and maladaptive behavior, religious deception and spiritual darkness; “And the children’s teeth are set on edge.”

Today, Blacks continue partaking of America’s forbidden fruit by imitating the decadent values and lifestyles in White culture. These are the sour grapes that bring all manner of disease and moral decay. With limited health care coverage, declining resources and spiritual power, Blacks are forced to struggle, unaided, with chronic disease, psychological shame and spiritual apathy, “And the children’s teeth are set on edge.”

If Blacks learn no other lesson from history, let them understand that they must take responsibility for themselves. Too many Blacks, like Whites, take better care of their clothes and their cars, their houses and their pets, than the health of their own bodies. Many Black Christians take great pride in the beautiful churches they build for the praise and worship of God, yet the body-temple that God built and gave them for the indwelling of His Spirit is polluted with dead foods, toxic drinks, chemical additives, and all manner of unclean things. “What, know ye not that your body is the temple of
the Holy Ghost which is in you, and ye are not your own?” 1Corinthians 6:19

Black thought leaders (ie: parents, pastors and physicians; actors, activists, and administrators; editors, educators and entrepreneurs; citizens, commissioners and counselors) all must be enlisted to resolve the Black health crisis. Black leaders who adopt a healthy lifestyle, and utilize the resources at their command, can mobilize the moral and economic capital of Black institutions and the religious community for an effective collective
response.

THE MINISTRY OF HEALING creates affordable HMOs (health ministry opportunity) for everyone, and can restore Black America’s total health and true identity. Its message provides in simple language a comprehensive
coverage of the practical instruction necessary for promoting health and preventing disease. It also reveals the moral incentive and spiritual power so essential for true and lasting change.

“In [these] days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own equity: every man that eat the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.” Jeremiah 31:29-30

“If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the [oppressors]: for I am the Lord that
health thee.” Exodus 15:26
