My Testimony of the Manhood Training Retreats:

My name is Drew Smith. I am an Evangelist/Teacher and have been participating in the annual Manhood Training retreats since 2003. My participation is as an instructor and I have enjoyed the privilege of making an impact for change in the lives of my African American brothers and their son’s lives; Also making new friends.

I believe the setting of the retreat is the beginning of Malachi. 4:5, were the Lord said he would “send Elijah the Prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers.” I believe the retreat is in the spirit of this verse and is a step up Jacobs ladder to fulfill God’s call to the African American men to return to the glory of God.

The retreat is in a wooded area in the mountains of Mount Aetna and so tranquil for relaxing the mind. All the topics are relevant to the theme for the retreat which is to awaken the mind for receiving information that will help us restore our families, broken relationships & community.

My passion is to restore men for the glory of God so that we can begin to restore families in our communities. I see this retreat growing with men who are tired of being bound and want to be free to be all God wants them to be. I have been blessed by other instructors as well and I look forward to this retreat every year.
