ABSTRACT

I did not know what was required for college, but now I know and want to share this with High School and College Students. Everything starts all over once you leave high school and start in college. The grades and GPA you had in high school you do not have to keep them low if they were low. You start a fresh new life at college with new grades and hopefully friends that have the same goals in life. College does not require that you had good study habits in high school and a great GPA but remember that can help you. But Darien McKinney had a 1.25 GPA in high school because I was not focused, which I am not proud of, but now I have a 3.25 GPA and I am the Vice President of the Criminal Justice National Honor Society. All you have to do is apply yourself in college, study hard and develop good study habits and good friends. I tried everything that is out there in life when I was in high school, I thought it was cool. But now I know what is really cool and important to me in life, so I want to share this with others so that they can be successful in life.

College is very different from high school. Some students get out of high school without ever having to study or complete homework. From high school to college, it is a big transition. Many people are not ready for the transition and do not perform well in their classes. These students usually end up dropping out of school. Others drop out because they are too busy partying and having fun to get into the classroom. Teachers do not really care what you do in college. It is all up to you. It is your money, not theirs. They will not think twice about failing you, if you have not made an effort in their class. There are some people who I know who did not make it pass the first semester. Now they are out in the world doing nothing with their life. CAMRA recognized my hard work that I achieved during the first semester and offered me a scholarship. They also raised my status to a full CAMRA Scholar instead of a Conditional Scholar.
